What can I say? The Stitches Marketplace is the best place to see all that’s new in the world of knitting. The exhibit hall at the Santa Clara Convention Center is huge — cavernous — so you can imagine there would be a number of vendors from all over the country (even from outside the U.S.).
My must-visit booths include FoxyKnits for their vast selection of Koigu yarns (it is inspiring to just stare at the selection from afar — the colors!); Habu for their unusual fibers (this year, I may actually buy something); Yarn Barn for books and magazines; Webs for basic yarns bagged and ready to go; and Tess (their rayon ribbon yarns come in the most gorgeous colors — perfect for warm-weather knitting). I also seek out button and closure vendors, as there are so many talented artisans there who sell their hand-made wares. Gita Marie’s enamel buttons and shawl pins are absolutely gorgeous. My friend bought a leaf shawl pin last year, which is just stunning.

But the best is to just browse, aisle by aisle, and stop in and visit the booths that catch your eye — fun! Hope to see you there!
